September 2011.  BUCKS BUSINESS SUPPORTS THE LYMPHOMA ASSOCIATION FOR SECOND YEAR

A businesswoman from South Bucks is once again supporting an Aylesbury-based cancer charity by donating 15 percent of proceeds from the sale of her purple hats and scarves throughout September.

She said: ″Last September my business supported the Lymphoma Association through the sale of our purple headscarf. In 2011, our new website www.jashcroft.co.uk was launched and our product range has been extended to include silk scarves and cotton baker boy hats.″

″With the new website, I am pleased to announce that we have seven purple gifts available.  This includes two headscarves, a fabulous baker boy hat, a turban, a headband, a beanie and a gorgeous silk scarf,″ Ashcroft added. ″This month, our purple gifts are being sold with 15 per cent of the proceeds benefitting the Lymphoma Association.″

Alice Strudwick, director of fundraising at the Lymphoma Association said: ″This year our Lymphatic Cancer Awareness Week is being held from 12 to18 September so we are delighted and incredibly grateful that Jo has decided to support us during this month.″

″The aim of the week is to raise awareness of the signs and symptoms of lymphoma and also to raise vital funds for our charity so we can continue to provide our free services to anyone affected by lymphatic cancer.″

About the Lymphoma Association

Founded by patients in 1986, the Lymphoma Association is the only specialist UK charity that provides accurate medical information and support to lymphatic cancer patients, their families, friends and carers.

Every year, more than 13,500 new cases of lymphoma are identified in the UK alone, making it the 5th most common cancer diagnosed by clinicians, and the most common cancer affecting the under 30s age group.

The services that the charity offer include a freephone helpline, comprehensive free literature, a buddy scheme with telephone links to others with similar experiences, local support groups, regional patient conferences and a fully interactive website featuring a messageboard and chatroom.  In addition, the organisation has established five Lymphoma Association Clinical Nurse Specialist posts within NHS Haematology Units.
